 Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that country singer, Josh Turner will be the Saturday night headliner of the Great Lawn stage at 28^th annual On the Waterfront festival.

Since 2003, Josh Turner has released four albums with ten singles hitting on the Billboard country singles charts.  Turner’s hits include; “Long Black Train”, “Your Man”, “Would You Go with Me”, “Firecracker” and the biggest of his hits, “Why Don’t We Just Dance.”  Known for his deep soulful voice, the 33 year old singer from South Carolina combines his love for country music with his carefree style of life in creating his music and delivering it to fans.

Jason Derulo Concert Moved to Friday, September 2, 2011

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that the Jason Derulo show presented by 97ZOK will be moved to Friday, September 2, 2011 due to scheduling conflicts.

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that pop R&B artist Jason Derulo presented by 97ZOK will take stage at the 28^th annual On the Waterfront festival.  Derulo has had four top singles in the past two years, and his self-titled album is currently charted at # 11 on the Billboard Top 200.

Jason Derulo, the 20 year old singer, dancer, songwriter and actor came onto the music scene in 2009 with his hit single “Whatcha Say.”  The song became an instant downloaded hit and reached number one in weeks.  In 2010 Derulo released his self-titled album with singles including, “Ridin’ Solo,” “In My Head,” “What If,” “The Sky’s the Limit” and “Don’t Wanna Go Home.”  Derulo has also made his mark by writing songs for artists such as Pitbull and Lil’ Wayne.  Derulo has been nominated for numerous awards, winning Teen Choice Awards R&B Album in 2010, BMI Pop Music Awards Songwriter of the year in and 50 Most Performed Songs of the year in 2011.

Stone Temple Pilots presented by 96.7 The Eagle to Headline the Great Lawn Stage Sunday, September 4th

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that the American rock group, Stone Temple Pilots, or STP, will close out the 28^th annual festival on the Great Lawn Stage Sunday, September 4^th.

“STP was one of the highest requested rock bands from the performer surveys we conducted earlier this year, and we are very happy that everything worked out for us to bring them to Rockford, especially with lead singer Scott Weiland back in the group,” said Nina Jacobson, OTW Sales and Marketing Manager.

STP who formed in 1992, dissolved in 2003, and reunited in 2008, has made its mark on rock music every step of the way. Since the moment they appeared on the scene in the early 90′s, Stone Temple Pilots dominated the decade from start to finish, racking up 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten, winning a “Best Hard Rock Performance” a Grammy Award  for “Plush,” and having their six albums sell more than 35 million copies worldwide. With the return of lead vocalist Scott Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots is back together and making a stop in Rockford!

On the Waterfront 2011 will kick-off with Seven Rock Bands on Great Lawn Stage

Thursday, September 1!

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that the entire Rock Allegiance Tour presented by The X will kick-off the festival on Thursday, September 1, 2011.  The seven band rock ensemble will include; Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, Crossfade, RED and Drive A.

The rock bands will include:

Buckcherry, the Los Angeles band, has released 5 albums since the band’s formation in 1995. The band’s most successful album, 15, was released in April of 2006.   The platinum album contained its biggest rock hit “Crazy Bitch,” as well as Buckcherry’s first ever Top 10 hit “Sorry.” 15 went on to spend an impressive 98 weeks on the Billboard’s Top 200. The band’s 2008 follow-up Black Butterfly debuted at #8 on Billboard and became a #1 rock album.  Buckcherry’s newest album, All Night Long, was released in 2010 and debuted at #10 on the Top Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and was the #1 rock debut.

Papa Roach, a California based hard-rock band, has released seven albums, with three making it into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. They have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and boasts gold, platinum, and triple-platinum albums.  With singles such as  “To Be Loved”, “Last Resort”, “She Loves Me Not”, “Scars”, “Forever”, and “Lifeline”, the band has made a name for themselves in the world of rock in their 18 years of existence.

Puddle of Mudd, the alternative rock band from Kansas City, Missouri, has sold over 7 million albums worldwide. They have released four albums, with one making it Top 10 on the Billboard 200. With singles such as “Blurry”, “Psycho”, “Famous” and “She Hates Me” the four-man band returns to OTW this year to once again rock the Great Lawn Stage.

Crossfade is a 12-year-old rock band from South Carolina.  Originally known as “The Nothing”, the band has become one of the most powerful and inventive new hard rock bands to emerge thus far in the new century with their top single “Cold.” They have released two albums, and will be releasing a third this upcoming June.

RED is an alternative metal/ Christian rock band who’s debut album “End of Silence” was nominated for the “Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album” at the Grammy Awards. Their song “Fight Inside” made Christian rock history when the debut hit #1 on Records and Radio’s charts, earning them another spot at the top. They have also won 2 GMA Dove awards for the best rock recorded song of the year, giving the band even more recognition for their edgy and inspirational songs.

Drive A,  based out of Los Angeles, California, plays aggressive rock ‘n’ roll that’s as high energy as it is unforgettable. Drive A’s hungry guitar snarl lives among power chords that’ll take up residence in your head for weeks at a time. Drive A decided to steer clear of the tired, beaten path treaded by many of their peers in order to exist in a genre that embraces creativity and destroys any rules that go with that, the way music was intended to be written. The band’s new album, The World in Shambles, is the follow up to their debut album Loss of Desire. The critically acclaimed album which featured singles “Are You Blind” and “Can’t Sleep It Off” set the precedence of Drive A’s back to basics form of high energy rock n’ roll and provided the soundtrack for their energetic live show.

Country singers Jerrod Niemann and LoCash Cowboys will both perform at this year’s On the Waterfront festival!

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that Jerrod Niemann will headline Center Stage presented by Rockford Career College and Q98.5 on Friday, September 2^nd ,2011 and LoCash Cowboys will headline the stage on Sunday, September 4^th , 2011.

Kansas native, Jerrod Niemann began his music career as a song writer for artists such as Garth Brooks, Jamie Johnson, Julie Roberts and Blake Shelton.  Niemann became a country music star with his 2010 number one hit “Lover, Lover”, a remake of Sonia Dada’s “You Don’t Treat Me No Good No More.”Niemann’s interpretation of the song features nine vocal parts, all recorded by him.  His second single, “What Do You Want” also hit the charts at number four.  Niemann is known for his comedic performances and entertaining country music shows.  Don’t miss him at OTW on Friday, September 2^nd!

The duo LoCash Cowboys is made up of Chris Lucas and Preston Burst.  The two men met in Nashville and immediately began to make music together, releasing their first album in 2008 and expected to release their second this year.  LoCash Cowboys’ brag two top 50 singles, “Here Comes the Summer” and “Keep in Mind” off of their first album.  They will perform Sunday, September 4^th on Center Stage presented by Rockford Career College and Q98.5.
