Orianthi will no longer open for Adam Lambert Saturday, September 4, 2010, Waterfront Announces American Idol Runner-up Allison Iraheta.
Rockford, Ill.– On the Waterfront, Inc. announced today that the female singer-songwriter and guitarist, Orianthi, has canceled her appearance on the second half of Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour which will come to Rockford Saturday, September 4, 2010. On the Waterfront has replaced her performance with the 2009 American Idol singer Allison Iraheta.
The 18 year old Iraheta was one of the final four on season 8 of the cutthroat singing competition American Idol. The maturity in her singing, well beyond her young age, is what set her apart in the competition. Because of this, the teenager was a favorite of all of three judges from the beginning, and has now created a contemporary pop/rock tour with some of the industries top singers, songwriters and producers. That list includes Max Martin, whose credits include hits for Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Katy Perry and many others. Another producer of her album is Howard Benson who has worked with Chris Cornell, Daughtry and My Chemical Romance. Then there’s American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, who has produced hits for many top artists including Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani.

Gregg Rolie, founding member of Journey and Santana to Headline on the Oasis Stage at OTW 2010
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Member, Gregg Rolie, will Headline the Oasis Stage Sunday, September 5th, 2010.
Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that the founding member of both Journey and Santana, Gregg Rolie, will headline at the 27th annual Labor Day Weekend festival on the Oasis Stage Sunday, September 5th.
Gregg Rolie is responsible for co-founding two phenomenally popular, multi-platinum groups, SANTANA and JOURNEY. In 1998, the world class keyboardist-vocalist-producer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as part of the original Santana band. In addition to launching the band, Rolie also co-produced Santana’s first four groundbreaking albums.
Rolie’s singing talents will forever be immortalized by his unforgettable lead vocals on classic Santana greatest hits including “Black Magic Woman” “Evil Ways” and the Tito Puente composition “Oye Como Va”.
The Gregg Rolie Band is composed of four musicians from Santana, two of which are now in the Rock ‘n Roll Hall Of Fame, and three other highly accomplished players.

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that the Christian crossover alternative rock band, NeedToBreathe, will headline the Oasis Stage Friday, September 3rd at the 27th annual festival.
The band, from a small town in South Carolina, has released three albums since its formation in 1999. Their latest alum, The Outsiders, released in August of 2009, has charted #20 on The Billboard 200, #2 on the Top Christian Album Charts, and #9 on the Alternative Rock Charts.
NeedToBreathe has had ten chart topping singles in the 11 years of its existence. These include “Signature of Divine (Yahweh)” which charted #1 on Radio & Records CHR, and was the 14th most played song on “Christian Hit Radio” in 2007, and “Washed by the Water” which charted #1 on “Hot Christian Songs”.
Aside from their skillful musicianship, the four band members have a spontaneous energy that intangibly connects them with their audience, and their powerful performances have helped build a dedicated fan base that’s been clamoring for The Outsiders.

New Orleans, LA native, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews is back at On the Waterfront due to popular demand after his 2008 performance. This musician is equally adept on trombone and trumpet, and plays a variety of other instruments as well. His sound is an unprecedented mix of rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop and soul. Trombone Shorty’s newest album, Backatown, features collaborations with former bandleader Lenny Kravitz, fellow Louisiana native Marc Broussard, and Allen Toussaint.

The King of Pop Culture Parody, Weird Al will Kick-off OTW in a Brand New Way!
Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that for the first time ever, they will start the annual bash with two times the party! 95.3 BOB FM welcomes Weird Al Yankovic to the stage Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 to open the 27th festival…but that stage will be in the Coronado Performing Arts Center! This performance will be in addition to the Dierks Bentley kick-off concert on the Great Lawn Stage in Davis Festival Park that same night.
“We wanted to add a comedy show to the 2010 festival and thought it was a perfect fit to put it in the Coronado and expand the festival’s kick-off night,” said Nina Jacobson, On the Waterfront, Inc. Sales and Marketing Manager. “And, Weird Al was Rockford’s comedian of choice on the performer surveys that we conducted, so we’re very excited about the show!”

Country Star Dierks Bentley to Kick-off the 2010 OTW
Dierks Bentley presented by Q98.5 will headline the Great Lawn Stage Thursday, September 2nd, 2010.
Rockford, Ill.– On the Waterfront, Inc. announced today that country star, Dierks Bentley will kick-off the 27th annual festival. Bentley will take the Great Lawn Stage in Davis Festival Park on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010.
Bentley was the number one requested country performer that Waterfront patrons wanted to see at this year’s festival according to the 2010 performer surveys conducted earlier this year by the On the Waterfront staff.
“We’re really excited that the routing worked out in a way that allows us to bring the number one requested country artist to the Great Lawn Stage,” said Becky Genoways, President/CEO of On the Waterfront, Inc. “We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who took the time to complete this year’s surveys. Hinder, Billy Idol and Dierks were all booked based on the feedback we obtained from those surveys.”
Dierks Bentley is a multi-platinum selling country radio favorite with thirteen top 10 singles and seven number one hits such as; “What Was I Thinkin’“, “Come a Little Closer“, “Settle for a Slowdown“, “Every Mile a Memory“, “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)“, “Feel That Fire” and “Sideways.”

Rockford, Ill.– Illinois’ largest street festival, On the Waterfront, announced today that
the 2009 American Idol second place winner will take the stage at the 27th annual Labor Day Bash in downtown Rockford. Lambert will perform on the Great Lawn Stage Saturday, September 4th, 2010.
The Indianapolis born pop star released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, in November 2009, which reached number three on Billboard 200. In his first year of performing, he was awarded Young Hollywood Award’s Artist of the year and Teen Choice Awards Male Reality/Variety Star in addition to seven other nominations. Lambert’s 2010 release of “Whataya Want From Me” has charted 14 on the Top 40 Charts and continues to rise.

The American rock band Hinder, with the 2006 4x platinum single Lips of an Angel, will be rocking the Great Lawn stage at this year’s On the Waterfront festival. The band will take the stage Friday, September 3, 2010.
