It’s a festival inside a festival-
(Admission included with On The Waterfront Festival admission- no added charge!)
Downtown Rockford, IL, is host to this addition to the On the Waterfront Festival- the OTW Film Fest. We are a showcase for a broad range of local and regional film and video, drawing from across numerous genres and filmmakers of all ages. OTW Film Fest is a juried film competition, with cash and other prizes to be awarded.
The First annual OTW Film Fest was located in Sullivan Theater on September 4th and 5th, 2010, during the On The Waterfront Festival and featured a widely varied film fest program featuring short films from near and far, guest speakers and panels on local and regional film. Our first guest speakers have since gone on to gain international distribution for their feature horror/thriller film “Raymond Did It”. OTW Film Fest 2011 continued to establish the Fest as a compendium of the creative visions of Stateline area filmmakers, maintaining a wide variety from comedy to science fiction to animation to documentary and more. The romantic comedy feature film by 2011 guest speakers from “Eros Ink” premiered an early version in 2011, and guest speakers from thriller “The Darkening” are premiering their film in Freeport, IL March 2012. Participants have gone on to win awards and gain more attention at many other festivals. We congratulate them all, and express great appreciation of all area filmmakers endeavors!
OTW Film Fest is a festival of short-form films. For this festival, short-form is defined as any video media that is less than 40 minutes in length, including all standard genres of film- drama, comedy, documentary, music video, experimental/video art films, etc. There is no minimum length.
